This year, we’re evolving the format of the event to play out with a light narrative arc that will reveal itself through the experience. We have been purposefully vague with the narrative because we are big believers in “surprise-and-delight”, and believe that the gap between expectation and reality is what creates the perception of an experience. So if we tell you next to nothing, it can only go uphill from here!
The theme of our journey will be revealed during our welcome ceremony on Thursday evening. For now, know this: You and your crew have mysteriously appeared on an island alongside seven other vessels. You have no memory of what happened during the moments leading up to being on this strange new terrain, or who these other people next to you are (they seem to be just as confused as you). Then, a green beam of light appears in the distance.

Lake Shasta is a 30,000-acre reservoir located in Northern California, and is the largest reservoir in California. Located 10 miles north of Redding, a typical summer day finds the crystal blue waters sprinkled with fishing boats, jet skis, inner tubes—almost anything that floats. Especially houseboats.
Some 370 miles of shoreline wrap around mirror-smooth coves ideal for anchoring. Kick back with a cocktail on the deck of your floating vacation home and drink in views of Mt. Shasta’s perennially snowcapped, 14,180-foot peak.
The intention is simple:
Gather in a novel, co-created space
Celebrate each other and ourselves through creativity, embodiment, and shared weirdness
Leave inspired and more connected to each other and to what comes next
If this sounds like your wavelength, we would love to have you along for the ride and join our little experiment on the water! 🌊
If you received this invite, that’s because someone considers you an awesome person that levels up the people around you. You’re in good company, because you are also going to be surrounded by other awesome people (some of which you already know and love, others you soon will).
With experiences of this nature, there is ***nothing*** more important than the people that fill the container. Each invite that has been sent has been made because we believe that you are an awesome, responsible, low ego and growth-oriented individual capable of rolling with the punches. When you fill a container with people that fit this mold, magic happens. And we’re in the business of creating a magical weekend.
We also believe that the most magical containers are large enough to expand horizons, but intimate enough to feel like a community. Because of this, we want to cap AYS at 85 people for its second year.
Each boat will carry a distinct tone, co-created by its captain and crew.
We’ll have:
One main music boat — the sonic heart of the experience
7 additional vessels, each with their own flavor, weirdness and wonder
Boat assignments, themes, and collaborative opportunities will be shared with you by your captain.
This is a soft outline — activities will be added and details may shift. We’re on lake time, after all.

Please plan to arrive by 10AM to Shasta Marina at Packer’s Bay on Thursday, October 16th. This will allow enough time for everyone to load their personal items on the boat and settle in. The boats will be departing by 12PM from the ramp to meet up at our designated spot. We will have some boats by October 15th and will begin event setup the night before.
If you are unable to make it by this time, let your captain know so additional arrangements can be made!
Note: We’ve heard that some of the lots that are not guarded are prone to break-ins. Because of this, we recommend confirming with the marina that the lot you are parking at has security.
Departure for all boats back to the marina will be no later than 8:30 AM on October 20th. There will be shuttles running at designated times to bring people back to the marina starting Sunday at 12PM. Please communicate with your captain if you are in need of a shuttle back to shore prior to your boat departing the event!
We are a registered non-profit splitting the costs of a collective event. There is no profit from the proceeds of this event, and any monetary overages that exist will be divided equally amongst participants. AYS has two cost components:
1. Event Ticket: $135. This reserves your spot and covers production costs like gear transport, AV rentals, decor, sound, infrastructure, and experience.
2. Lodging: ~$250–$400. Lodging is paid separately to your captain and covers your sleeping arrangements aboard your assigned boat. Shared fuel costs will be settled with your captain after the event. Your AYS donation confirms your participation. Your captain will follow up separately about lodging payments.
🍽️ Note: Food and drinks are not included. Each boat will coordinate meals separately, so talk to your captain about meal plans.
